In 2013 I was doing a shoot on the summit of Mount Abraham. I was no hurry and well outfitted so I decided to stay on the mountain after dark and do some astrophotography. Much to my amazement an aurora appeared on the northern horizon and I began to shoot away with glee. When I got home and uploaded the images to the computer my jubilee quickly soured. I had made a technical error that caused every shot from the night to be slightly out of focus. Oh man, I was devastated.
Fast forward to August of 2016 when there was a major solar storm event predicted. There was no doubt in my mind where I needed to go. I had to head back to Mount Abraham and get redemption for the shoot I had botched 3 years prior. I spent the entire night on Abe waiting out the aurora and at around 2am it finally made an appearance. I got about 15 minutes of the most intense northern lights displays I've witnessed to date before fading out for the rest of night.

One of the only shots from my 2013 shoot that was in focus. You can see the aurora in the extreme right of the frame.
